For a line/copy edit, I will review the first 1000 words of your manuscript and we will take some time to discuss, get to know each other, and see if we vibe. This is a no-strings-attached trial service.

For a developmental edit, I will read through the first two chapters and provide feedback on the beginning - the hook, and first impressions of characters and setting and whether these match your intentions. I can also line/copyedit the first 1000 words.

This is the first stage of editing your completed manuscript. This edit targets big-picture aspects of your writing, such as: 

• Plot
• Pacing and flow
• Character development
• Structure and organisation
• Scenes to cut down or expand
• The impact of the ending

This is an in-depth analysis, with lots of feedback given. This is not a beta read.

This is for two passes through your manuscript, with in-document feedback, as well as an editorial letter upon return of your manuscript.

A line and copy edit combo is the ultimate edit! You get the best of both edits. Line edits look at:

• polishing the text
• improving grammar
• checking vocabulary
• maintaining the tone of sentences
• ensuring consistency
• improving details within the story

And copyedits look at:

• spelling
• grammar
• capitalisation
• POV/tense
• dialogue tags
• use of numbers and/or numerals
• descriptive inconsistencies

This is for 2 passes.

Will come with a style sheet.

Proofreading is the final stage of editing. It is a meticulous review of the text for typos, formatting errors and minor inconsistencies. Proofreading is a crucial last step in the writing process and is good for:

• checking spelling
• checking punctuation
• removing unwanted spaces
• checking formatting

Please note: Proofreads are only available to clients who have done a line/copy edit with me.

Any manuscripts that undergo my services will also receive a shout-out on my personal Bookstagram and Hummingbird's social media. This will be discussed with the author in regards to timelines and content creation.

I will also add your cover to my website with purchase/preorder links, as well as links to your store, kickstarter, website, Instragram page, etc

If you have ARC forms, I will also publish these on my website.

A free service for clients who have done a developmental edit, will do one, or have booked in for a line/copy edit. I have a database of Beta readers that I can link you up with.
